Antong Hotel

The hotel was a wood-framed construction built in 1941 and preserved roughly intact. Since Antong Hotel is a valuable cultural heritage, it deserves being well protected. Moreover, there are few hot spring hotels built in the Japanese Colonial Period left in Taiwan. Antong can be seen as an important symbol of historic structure within the domain of Hualien County. The old Antong Hotel run by Japanese has a history of more than seventy years. Though the owner has refurbished the hotel and the roof, the structure of the hotel is kept untouched. Moreover, the Japanese cement tiles on the roof are still intact, which makes Antong worthy of preserving and registering.
