In order to serve the public in southern Hualien County and activate local arts center, the county government has extended the exhibition activity of “Hualien International Stone Sculpture Festival” to southern town Yuli as “Southern Art Exhibitions” from 2014 which was received enthusiastic response from the public. The exhibition combined the veins and textures of local stone carving art with the energy of local art, presenting locality and local education, as well as composing the abundance and diversity of Hualien stone sculpture art festivals. The activity content includes three major themes: “Back to Glory -Invitational Exhibition of Previous Presidents in Hualien Stone Sculpture”, “Passing the torch-Joint Exhibition of Po-Si Art” and “Enhancement Lecture of Artistic Creation on Po-Si Art”.

There are 28 stonework exhibited this time, including previous Presidents in Hualien Stone Sculpture Association, such as Lin Tsung-Hui,Lin Shu-De, Liao Ching-Yun, Hsu Li-Hsien, Chiu Chuang-Yong, Liu Shun-Tien, Chuang Ting-Kuen, Huang He, Lin Chung-Shih, Hsiang Kuang Hua, Jhuo Wum-Jhang,Feng Chao-Tsung,Huang Ching-Huei,Cheng Yung-To,Wu Ming-Sheng and so on. In the meantime, we also invite some members from Yuang-Cheng Elementary School, Hualien County Po-Si Art Development Association and so forth to provide about 50 Po-Si paintings for the joint exhibition so as to extend the torch of Po-Si paintings, drive the connection of life aesthetics, let visitors understand the evolution and applied aesthetics of stone material, and experience the result of building artistic town in Hualien and the local cultural characteristics of Yuli Town.

Furthermore, on Saturdays and Sundays during the exhibition period, “Enhancement Lecture of Artistic Creation on Po-Si Art” organized by Hualien County Po-Si Art Development Association will bring the public to experience the charm of Po-Si Art. The public are welcome to participate.
