作品名稱中的「山海」回應花蓮中央山脈與太平洋之間的地景條件；「共航」則指向龍舟運動中隊伍協作、節奏一致與共同抵達的精神。弧形構件如水波、船身與槳跡交織，使作品在開放草地上形成具有方向感與辨識度的場域標誌。
最終呈現的，不僅是一艘龍舟的形象，而是一種來自花蓮、持續生成的集體狀態。作品以流動的結構回應地方地景，以開放的形式連結不同個體，並 指向跨越疆界的共同前進，呼應2026世界龍舟錦標賽所強調的團隊協作精神與國際交流的當代意義 。
Flowing Together: Mountains and Sea centers on the collective action and forward-looking spirit embodied in dragon boat racing. Drawing inspiration from Hualien’s mountain-and-ocean landscape, the waters of Liyu Lake, and the international spirit of competition, the work transforms these elements into a public artwork that invites viewing, gathering, and reflection.
Its continuous, undulating lines merge the geographical features of Hualien’s mountains and sea into the forward-moving form of a dragon boat, expressing the collective momentum of people working together and advancing through the waves.
The words “Mountains and Sea” refer to Hualien’s distinctive setting between the Central Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean, while “Voyage Together” reflects the teamwork, synchronized rhythm, and shared destination central to dragon boat racing. The curved forms intertwine like waves, the body of a boat, and the traces of paddles, creating a directional and recognizable landmark within the open landscape.
Ultimately, the artwork represents more than the image of a dragon boat. It embodies an evolving collective spirit rooted in Hualien.
